I’m Kara and I’m a recent graduate from the University of South Florida and now it’s time to venture out and discover my place in the world–or so they say. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Environmental Science and Policy. Overall, I’d say I’m an outgoing, active person who cares about the environment.
Growing up in Florida has made me love the beaches, rivers, lakes and the general nature of the area. I have taken classes that have made me aware of changes to the environment and the affect of population growth, especially in Florida, and I believe everyone should be aware of the importance of being sustainable. With that being said, I pursued a minor in Environmental Science and Policy hoping I could encourage people to live a “greener” life. I write my blogs and articles to show why sustainability is important and how, with the help of PR, being environmentally conscious can become the norm.
Perhaps grad school will be an option for the future. Ideally, I would like to work with a sustainable organization or for a company that is environmentally conscious. I truly feel that if I worked in the PR industry, for a company that promotes sustainability, it would help me influence others to lead a more sustainable life.
